Eel Traps

Today at the Ely Markets there was a guy selling hand made willow Eel and crayfish traps. The crayfish are a new addition to british waterways but Eel catching is one of the oldest traditions on the fens. Since we live in Ely, the isle of Eels I felt like I had at least better give it a go.

The trap I bought is still a bit green and needs a month or two to dry out before it is ready for action. Around april time we will give it a go.
