Skiing Mt Buller
The snow was supposedly the best for 10, 20, 100 years according to various experts. All we can say is, it was bloody awesome. The day started of blue and sunny, and you could see the excitement in everyone at the bottom of the first chairlift
People looking … well .. not that excited .. but they were!
Our skiing companions Shel and Andrew were seasoned experts so we parted ways for the morning. While they went off to the black runs we started on the “Bourke St Carpet”, which was, as the name suggests, very, very busy. There were kids as young as 3 skiing much more proficiently than us! After we did this a few times without crashing into many people and without falling over (too much) we figured it was all a bit easy and headed over to some nearby blue runs.

It didn’t take long before we were pushing the limits and became addicted to the speed. Ira had a crash and dislocated his shoulder … oops! We were really worried that it would put a stop to his day, but thankfully it went back in really easily and, like a trooper, he kept on skiing!
Ira post dislocation – still carving it up
Jan started to ski well beyond her capabilities and had some fairly significant crashes, with skis and poles going in all directions!
Jan smiling to try and hide the fact that she has lost her skis after a big crash
At the end of the day we were sunburnt to a crisp and bruised and battered, but happy after a day carving up the slopes of Buller.
