Kayak to the max
On saturday we cruised the waters of the little ouse between Thetford and Brandon. It was the first proper trip for Jan’s kayak and we gave it a good testing. The trip was definitely one of the most fun in a while. We glided along with the current in perfect peace. Nobody else was on this lovely windy little stretch of river and we had some great bird encounters too. We watched a kingfisher flying from bank to bank .. even hovering in front of us for a few seconds and also saw a yellow wagtail up close. There was also a bit of high adrenaline as we traversed the notoriously dangerous Brandon weir … and we saw loads of swans, ducks and cows. Of course .. in proper English style we drank almost 2 liters of tea along the way.
